Consultations

The Shepherd Law Group consists of two attorneys, Mr. Shepherd & Ms. Allen. Mr. Shepherd’s current billing rate is $400 per hour, Ms. Allen’s current billing rate is $310 per hour. The prices below are to give you an idea of how an item is billed, however, in order to provide you legal services, you must first sign a fee agreement and provide a retainer. (see Retainers immediately following the prices section)

Items are billed at the current rate or per item as follows:

Billing Hours

30 Min or less are at a flat fee of $200.00 for Mr. Shepherd and $155 for Ms. Allen, after 30 min, you will be billed at the attorney’s corresponding hourly rate.

Form Notices: 3-Day (or 15-Day Notice) to Pay Rent or Quit

*a form notice is a notice that already has a specific template examples include: 3-Day Notice to Pay Rent or Quit or a 30-Day Change in Terms of Tenancy…  $95/hr

30/60/90/120 Termination of tenancy Notices Preparation (non-form) or Notices to Cease  $310/hr  

Process Server Fees:  $65/per Notice

Retainers: The following are typical initial retainer amounts requested per case type*:

Legal Services/ Pre-UD services: (typical range) $1000 - $2000 retainer.

Unlawful Detainers: $1950 with one Defendant: plus $50 for each additional Defendant and/or $50 for a Prejudgment Right to Claim of Possession.

Ellis Act: $2000 per unit on property 

Civil Cases: (typical range) $5,000 - $8000


*Prices are not flat fees and are some costs are subject to change depending on circumstance.

We do not provide forms or Lease/Rental Agreements; We encourage you to join one of the many Rental Associations to obtain up-to-date forms and essential landlord information. Mr. Shepherd works closely with these Organizations to assist landlords get as much information and resources as possible. Please refer to any one of the following organizations:
